I LOVE these earrings. The color combination is just perfect. I made the sterling chain. Oxidized and brushed it. Made the headpins, too. the red bead came from a strand of vintage glass that also included flowers and pod shaped beads. I love the idea of using every single thing you have. Leaving nothing out. Making your own headpins, using every last bead on a strand for something. That's why I never throw anything away. i know myself well enough to realize that even if I may not love it then, in 6 months I'll discover this box of beads or stones or charms and know exactly what to do with them.

Yesterday I sat and watched my boyfriend and his band play at the public radio station's summer concert. I looked through my supply catalogs and sketched new designs in my moleskine and took some photos. Today was even better, as I've gotten my home studio fully up and running, and do not have to rely on the outside studio for anything but casting, which I will do this fall. It's exciting, to be able to work completely from home, on my own. Everything I need, I've bought or made myself. (I'm kind of proud of myself.)

I found out today that www.omiru.com will be featuring this on their website next week. They asked me questions, too, about my work. I think one of the reasons I like talking about my jewelry, or even myself, with new people is that I am able to see myself through their reactions. I can walk away from the conversation and think 'Yeah, i guess that IS really exciting' or 'Wow, that was dangerous, wasn't it?' Makes me feel more cemented in the real world. A person with a past and events that shaped me and are continuing to do so. But! I digress. My point: check out www.omiru.com . Look for my necklace! And keep checking back - support the people who support the people you like. :)

I love when my favorite items sell. The ones I'm really proud of. The ones I sweat over, and love, and hammer and brush carefully. The ones I price for what they're worth, even if I cringe a bit. Today someone bought these: mingle

and I couldn't be happier.

(thank you)
